Thank you very much for a very enjoyable stay, one week in the Bergerie and then one in the Farmhouse. We did not expect to have such a relaxing holiday with our 7 month old baby daughter Yvaine. She enjoyed the swimming pool, baby swing and slide. We thoughtthe evening dinner you prepared us was amazing. We also made an enjoyable day trip to the Vallée des singes, highly recommended! We had a really wonderful two weeks in La Petite Maison with our 18-month old daughter. She loved the huge garden, all the toys and especially the wooden Wendy House and eating delicious fresh blackberries straight from the bushes. We swam in the excellently maintained pool most days. The setting was altogether lovely and Xavier, your cooking is fantastic! Thanks again.

This was our second visit to Bois Bourdet and our first visit with the new owners Xavier and Stephanie. I am delighted to say that the new owners have as much passion for the place as the previous ones and the same high standards remain. Xavier's cooking is fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed both of the meals he prepared for us. Bois Bourdet is the perfect place to escape from the stresses of normal life. The gardens are beautiful and the children have loved just pottering around in the beautiful gardens, bouncing on the trampoline, splashing in the pool and playing table tennis. We would recommend this place to all.

We stayed at La Petite Maison for one week and it was a very pretty, well presented apartment. The weather was very hot - 37 degrees that week - so the pool and the shade of the trees was very welcome. Our only regret was that we didn't sample Louise's cooking - too hot to cope with the 4 courses. Excellent place to stay.

We said we'd come back and we came!! Had a fabulous time, the farmhouse was very comfortable with everything a family could possibly need. The heated pool has been the icing on the cake. The opportunity to use the vegetable garden and to sample Louise's cooking has been all we could ask for. We sincerely hope to visit again.

Dear Les and Louise,Just thought we'd drop you a line to let you know how much we enjoyed our week at Bois Bourdet. Apart from your hospitality, which was attentive to all our needs and yet unobtrusive, we really enjoyed the touring about. We both thought Poitiers with its marvellous architecture was enchanting and a real cultural treat. Added to this was the trip to Cognac to the various distilleries and the delights of Ile-de-Ré, as well as the golf at Château-des-Forges.All together the whole French ambience was a treat – very relaxing and friendly in a tranquil location. We thought Bois Bourdet was ideal for our week in France and only regretted that we did not have longer to do more exploring. We'd definitely want to come back next year and explore more of the hidden gems of the area. Many thanks again for a lovely week.

We wanted good food, a picturesque setting and somewhere to really relax from the strains of life... And what did we find? All of this and so much more... The children loved ambling through the charming French village and being free to explore all the nooks and crannies Bois Bourdet has to offer, as well as finish off the day with a play in the pool.

Meanwhile Mum and Dad loved the warm welcome from the hosts and the high standard of accommodation offered. Top tip, definitely treat yourself to some of the home cooking on offer, it's out of this world...
